Diwali Ke Shor Mein

Original score for a theatrical feature unfolding entirely over one Diwali day, as a middle-class family gradually becomes entangled in a crime.

The music had to evolve with the film's shifting emotional centre without dictating what the audience should feel. The score was built from the world outward, with texture, harmony and instrumentation establishing the atmosphere before melodic ideas emerge. The theme grows from the world rather than sitting above it.
